The
China Teachers Program (CTP) is a nonprofit outreach program of the David M.
Kennedy Center for International Studies at Brigham Young University. The program offers a rare
combination of opportunities for participants to teach Chinese university students,
experience a year living in China, absorb the ancient and modern culture of
Asia, and contribute to building a relationship of trust with the People's
Republic of China. In addition to fostering academic and cultural ties, the
program also provides professional international experience and important
educational services to affiliated Chinese universities. CTP
participants bring the wisdom and experience of their successful careers to
their classes. Their conscientious service benefits Chinese students, host
universities, and the teachers themselves.
Program Goals
- To develop cultural competencies of teachers and students
- To provide instruction in English and selected content areas to affiliated Chinese universities for the enrichment of Chinese university students
